Invert paths and shapes

- When you're working with selections in Photoshop, if you want the opposite of what you have selected to become the active selection, all you need to do is come to Select and choose Inverse. So what's the equivalent behavior when working with shape layers? What if, having drawn an orange triangle on a yellow background, I actually want a yellow triangle on an orange background? Well, I need to come to my shape layer, and when I select it, it's important that the anchor points be active. And if they're not active, come to your Path selection tool. And if they're still not active, then hold down the optional Alt key, while you click on the layer. Either that, or, just with your Path selection tool, come and click on the shape itself. Once those anchor points are active, you'll have access to these options, and the one that we want here is Subtract Front Shape. If I turn off the background Color Fill layer, you can see that we're now cutting a hole through that layer of color. So this…
