- [Instructor] Layers are a really important aspect of working in Illustrator Draw allowing you to segment your work logically so that it's easier for you to edit. This is actually one of my own pieces that I am working on currently. Just here it's a cartoon of me in my ink tank. You can see there's some different ink and whatever on the side there and my love of pens. It's also expressed violent art just here, and it's super charged as well which is awesome. And let me show you just some of the layers in here, so this smoke effect for example, if I double tap on that to hide that layer, you can see that it's just a set of semi opaque brush strokes on there built up. And similarly the tank itself, if I just double tap the green there, it's essentially, and now the layer that makes it a bit mucky you can see that essentially I've just filled that solid green, and then worked with a semi opaque brush over the top.
