- [Instructor] So, I've set up six layers on the timeline, seconds, scenes, audio for music, audio for dialog, scene two, and scene one. And I've colored the layers. I like coloring layers so that they have some kind of meaningful color that corresponds with what they do. If a layer it will have notes or some kind of non-visual elements to it, I like to color them white or light gray. And then different colors. They're nice to look at, at least an outline so they're not the lurid, random colors that you usually get. Now, the other thing that I like to do is to have some easy way to mark out seconds on the timeline, which you don't really get by default. This is hard to read. So, whether you want to mark your timeline in feet or seconds or some other meter, then here's how we do it. So, this project is at 30 frames a second, so the first second will last from one to 30, and the second will start on frame 31. So, we have here number 31.
