Modern interface and start screen

- [Instructor] The interface in Animate CC has been updated with a clean, modern look which is shared among many of Adobe's flagship applications such as Photoshop or After Effects. You can see here, the new start screen experience. From here, you're able to choose from a number of presets. Here we have some presets for Character Animation and the details can be found to the side for each preset. You can see here that the width and hight are defined. And the platform type can be chosen as well. Aside from Character Animation, we have Social, Game, Education, Ads, Web and the Advanced tab. When you choose Advanced, you're able to select the specific platform. So, if I wanted to create a VR Panorama document I can select it there and choose Create. At any time we can choose to make a selection the default for new documents. In addition to the home area, there is also a Learn tab here, where you can view various videos that show how to use specific features in this version of Animate CC. Going back to home, you can also open documents from here. And locate recent files. Let's go to Character Animation and choose the standard HD preset. Click Create. And the document is created for us. You'll notice in this version of Animate CC that we now have a very flat look with pronounced buttons. If we go to preferences, which on Windows is under Edit, Preferences. Or on a Mac, just under Animate, Preferences. You'll notice we have new user interface selections. You can choose between Darkest, Dark, Light and Lightest. These change the overall look of the application. You'll also notice that the navigation is now above the timeline. There are a number of other things that have changed with the timeline as well. For instance, a lot of the colors go along with this new, modern interface. So, the colors you used to for specific tween types are going to be a bit different from what you remember. One last item, in regard to the interface, is if we go to the Advanced Settings for our document properties, you'll notice that Advanced Layers Mode it's activated by default. Any new document created in this version of Animate CC, will be using Advanced Layers. You can turn it off and on from this particular area in Document Settings. If I wanted to turn it off, I can do it from here. Or, if I was opening an older document that was created in the previous version of Animate, I could always enable Advanced Layers in the same way. Animate CC continues to evolve along with all of Adobe's flagship desktop applications in new and exciting ways.
