Learn how to create symbols, and the power of movieclip symbols in Animate CC.
- [Voiceover] Really at the core of Animate…is its use of symbols because symbols are so powerful…because they make everything so flexible…and just easy to work with.…And, I'll show you what I'm talking about…right now as I just shift + select both of these text items.…Look at my properties panel.…Not a whole lot I can do.…And I want to do so much more.…Well, with both of those selected,…I can convert them to a symbol.…And there's three different types.…There's movie clip, button, and graphic.…I'm gonna select movie clip because quite frankly…it is the most flexible.…
I'll just type in Text right here.…And I'll click OK.…And now look at my properties panel.…I get a number of additional properties, right.…Now that it's this movie clip symbol,…I can do a number of things.…So, I can adjust the transparency,…I can jump into display mode, you might be familiar…with these in Illustrator or Photoshop.…But I can change the blend mode to overlay, for instance.…And you can see what it does there.…And that alone, I think, looks a lot better.…
