Acquire a web server certificate using Microsoft AD CS
- [Instructor] In this demonstration, I'll be acquiring a PKI certificate that's going to be used to secure a web server, and I'll be acquiring that certificate from a Microsoft Active Directory Certification Authority. So on the server hosting that certification authority, I'm already looking at templates available to issue certificates, one of which is called Custom Web Server. However, if I double-click on it, I don't really see much information about that specific template. However, if I right-click on Certificate Templates in the left and choose Manage, then I'll see all of the templates that are available, and there's the Custom Web Server. From here, if I double-click, I can see the details. So the certificate will have a validity period of two years. The subject name will have to be supplied in the request. So I'm going to go ahead and cancel that. And on this machine, I'm going to start up the certmgr Microsoft Management Console. Now, I don't have to do it on this server…
