- [Instructor] In some cases you might want to obtain someone's signature in person. Off hand I can think of people like realtors, contractors, even employers just to mention a few who might want to obtain a signature right where they are to speed up a process. Adobe document cloud allows you to accomplish this via the Adobe sign app. Let me show you how to get a signature in person using the Adobe sign app and your Adobe document cloud account. Now I'm starting here on my iPhone and the first thing I'm going to do is open up the Adobe sign app.
So I have that in this folder located on my phone and you'll notice the top middle icon is the adobe sign app. Now you might recognize that logo from the Adobe sign webpage that we were on. So I'm going to go ahead and tap that icon and I've already signed in with my account. So it's important to understand that as you go through these various scenarios that everything is tied to that Adobe ID. So we've been signing into our mobile apps, to Acrobat, to the webpage for Adobe document cloud using that same Adobe ID.
Now one of the things that's worth showing you here is that on your mobile device, using the Adobe sign app, you can tap the, 'waiting for others' button and that'll show you any forms that have been sent out that you're still waiting for a signature. I'm just going to go ahead and go back here and you'll also be able to see the ones that are completed. So if I choose the completed button, you're going to see that those two forms that we had sent out are listed here and if I wanted to I could download them and view them, I can do a number of different things.
So I'm going to go ahead and go back here. Now the other thing we can do, right from the Adobe sign app is we can tap send for signature and it's very specific as far as what we need to do. So we need to choose the document, the recipients, customize the message and then set the options for that. So if I tap on documents, I just want to show this to you, I can literally select any document I wish. It can be in the document cloud, it can also be on your device, it can be in your Dropbox folder, whatever you have configured as long as it's a PDF, we can send it out.
Now you'll notice way at the top where we have document library. Adobe sign provides you with several common forms that people typically need signatures on when they're working in the business environment. So for example, a W-9 if you do any work with sub-contractors, you often need to get a W-9 signed from them. So that's already in here for you to send out. You'll also notice though that this Landon Hotel agreement is in here because when I had sent that document out for signature previously, I told it to add it to my library.
So, as a person who needs to get that agreement signed, this is a great way to make that happen. So let's go ahead and back out here, you'll notice there's an option there to get signature in person. So I'm going to go ahead and tap that and we get a very similar screen here where we need to choose a document, the recipients. I'm just going to make things simple here, I'm going to tap documents and then I'm going to choose the document library and we're going to use that Landon Hotel agreement again. So I'm going to go ahead and tap that and then I'm going to go ahead and choose done.
So we've defined the document, let's go ahead and choose the recipients. So I'm going to go ahead and enter the email address of the recipient tapped on, I can customize the message if I want. I'm happy with that so I'm going to leave that alone, go ahead and tap done. And then we can choose options, and again we can choose different parameters here, we can preview and add the signature fields on our mobile device if we want. We can also password protect that if we feel that that's important.
So I'm just going to choose done here. And now I'm going to tap the sign link and that's going to prepare the agreement and then it's going to send it out to obtain the signatures. You'll notice now I have a message on my device that says, pass the device to the signer. I'm going to go ahead and take on the role of the signer, and you can see that the message indicates that by proceeding I'm affirming that I am the person that owns the email that I sent this to and this is part of the validation that Adobe sign uses.
If I am in fact the signer I'm going to tap the link that says, yes I am the [email protected] so say yes I am that person and now I can go through and I can sign this document. You'll notice I can pinch and zoom if I want to make this a little bit bigger. Again the title here, I'll just say that I am a worker, just keep it simple here, and my company is my personal company.
And then way at the top it says tap to sign so I'm going to go ahead and tap that. So you can see it now brings up the signature field on my mobile device. And once again I can use my finger or a stylus if I wish to sign this. Again I'm going to keep my signature very simple, I'm going to pretend I'm John Doe here even though I sent it to Chad but you get the idea. I'm going to say done and you see this message tells me I need to enter my name as well.
So I'll just tap okay, up ere at the top I'll enter my name, there we go and I'll type John Doe. Perfect! And then I'll go ahead and tap done. And now the document has been signed, all the fields have been filled out and I'm just going to tap the finished button in the upper right corner and it wants to record the location in which I signed it. So that you have some evidence or validation of where and when that person signed the documents so I'll tap okay.
And you can see we got a message that said it was syncing my documents but I'll switch my phone now and you can see that if I tap the completed button there's now three documents in there that had been signed. And just to show you this I'm going to jump over to Acrobat and I'm going to manage my documents sent for signature down here at the bottom and I just want to show you that all of that has now synced to my Adobe sign account.
And you can see that the one that I just signed where I used my personal company and John Doe once again is now signed and has been stored on my main dashboard for Adobe sign. You can see how easy it is to obtain a signature in person using the Adobe sign mobile app. Use it the next time you need to obtain a signature on site with a client or potential employee.
