Learn how to package an Illustrator project to include fonts and placed graphics.
- [Narrator] If your printer has asked…that you send the Illustrator file for print,…you want to make sure that you send all the bits and pieces.…After all, you can't just send the Illustrator file,…in this case it has placed images,…I have to send them as well, and I'd also…like to make sure that the printer has the correct fonts.…It's no fun trying to gather up all…those bits and pieces manually,…but don't worry because Illustrator makes it easy…with the Package feature.…Just go to File, Package.…Now, by the way, you won't see this in older versions…of Illustrator, it's a CC feature.…You can pick a Location, you can choose…the Folder name and then here are the options,…copy the links, and that's all my placed images.…
It's gonna collect them in a separate folder…from my Illustrator file and it's actually…saving a copy of my Illustrator file…and it's going to link these images to that copy.…It's gonna copy any of the necessary fonts…except any Chinese, Japanese, or Korean fonts…that you've used and it does not gather Typekit fonts.…
