Join Chad Chelius for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating forms in InDesign, part of Advanced Accessible PDFs.
- Not only is Adobe InDesign a powerful design tool,…but it also provides a way to build…fillable PDF form information in an InDesign document…that will produce a fillable PDF form…when exported to the PDF format.…As you've seen in previous videos in this chapter,…making an existing PDF file a fillable form…can be time-consuming and adding this information…in InDesign can be a huge time saver.…Let's take a closer look at how this is done.…What I usually do when I'm building a form…that's going to go to a fillable PDF form is,…I'll go ahead and go to the Layers panel…and I'll create a layer that's called "Foundation."…And this is really the main content of my document.…
You can see here if I turn the visibility on and off,…it's basically everything that's in my form.…And to make it a little bit easier to work…I'm going to lock that layer.…That way I don't accidentally move anything…that's on this particular layer.…Than I'll go ahead and create a new layer.…And I'll rename that layer by double-clicking on it…and I'll call it "Form Information."…
