- [Voiceover] Here is a neat feature that you might find in handy. Instead of just placing an Excel spreadsheet data into InDesign and formatting it as a table, as I showed in the previous video. You could also link, to that external Excel file, so that as people change the data in Excel file. Like here is the Excel file, if they change something here and save it, you'll be notified in InDesign that the data is different. Here is the table that I created from that data And then you can easily just click one button to update all of the changed data, and it will automatically update without losing your formatting. Now it's not something that most people need to do, usually just bringing in once and then format it. But if it's something that you know it's part of your work flow the people are constantly updating the data, and you need to constantly update your InDesign file, it can come in extremely handy.
