Learn about counting items on blueprints.
- [Instructor] All right, we're ready to begin. The primary means of getting items off a blueprint and onto a worksheet is to count them. Take a look, and follow along with me. Using the tally counter, a highlighter, and a pencil, we can count items and list them on a takeoff sheet. (tally counter clicking) Also, if you like, you can open up your exercise files, you can open up this drawing AE2.03, and follow along with me.
Using the highlighter tool of Adobe's PDF viewer, I can count one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. That's nine type F16 fixtures. Now I'll transpose that to the takeoff sheet. Simply minimize that, open up my takeoff sheet, and here I'll fill it in.
You could do this on the computer, or you could do it by hand, however you like.
