- [Presenter] In this video I'll discuss adding fields to your tables and the pros and cons to deleting fields within a table. We'll also talk about how to set up a validation rule so that you can control the data that's being entered into the records in your table. I'll also show you how to create an input mask, specifically for a telephone number so that your users don't have to enter the symbols within the telephone number such as the parentheses around the area code and the hyphen within the phone number. Let's go ahead and take a look at the 03_04 Validation Mask Database. Let's go ahead and open up the Customers table. I would like to add two fields to this table, Company Name and Email Address. Now I can enter that information right here in Datasheet View or I can go into Design View. Let's add one in Data Sheet View and then I'll show you how to use the Design View to add a field. We'll simply go to the last column where it says Click to Add and this is going to be short text.…
