VBA function basics

- [Voiceover] Access ships with many built-in functions that you can use to modify the data that is stored in your data tables. Occasionally however, these won't be enough to calculate exactly what you need or perhaps you just want to save a complex calculation to use over and over again. In these cases, you'll want to create your own custom functions in Visual Basic. To create a custom function in Visual Basic, you just need to come up here to the create tab and go over here to the far right and find the Macros & Codes section. At the very top, we'll click on Module to add in a new Visual Basic for applications Module. That'll immediately launch the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications program. Over here on the far left at the bottom, we have our properties panel. If you're not seeing this panel, just go up here to the tool bar and click on this icon here with the hand and the page. In the properties panel, we can go ahead and give our Module a name. I'm gonna highlight here where…
