Using Search, Go to, and Find

Access gives you a few quick ways to jump to a record you need. Find, Go To and Search. Open up your Customers table, the Search box is down at the bottom. For example, I will type in Hinton, one of my sales reps and it find the first instance right here. If I press Enter again, the highlight will jump to the next customer with Hinton. I can keep pressing Enter to keep scrolling through them until I reach the last one. After that nothing will happen. Open up the Customers Order form and try the same thing.

I will do a search for Hinton and press Enter and I will scroll through all my records. Next, come back up to the Home ribbon and go to Go To. These options match the First, Previous, Next, and Last options that you see down in the lower left hand part of your form or table. So I can use this to jump to the last. You can also use Find, to locate the record that you need. Let's say, I need to call one of our customer who runs in deli.
