Toggling between Design and Data views
When you are building a database, you'll frequently switch back and forth between the design view, where you build a structure of a table form or report, and its data view, where you actually use it. Access gives you a variety of methods of moving back and forth between the two. When you double-click on an object, let's say the Products table, from the Navigation pane, it defaults to opening it in data view, handy for working on your data immediately. If you need to switch to the design view to work with the structure of that table, go up to the very first button on the Home ribbon, there's an architects triangle, click on it, and it takes you to the design view. To go back to the datasheet, simply click on that button again. You will notice that the button has a dropdown underneath it. Click on that dropdown and you also have the options to switch to a PivotTable View and a PivotChart View. Those are available when you're working with a table. Now let's open up the form. I will go…
