- [Instructor] To start with, make sure you have the database file 0102 My First DB open. Now look, before we start exploring Access's database features in too much detail, it kind of goes without saying that we need data. We could always do this manually by heading over to the Create menu, and selecting Table. This creates a table for us that we could always start typing in columns and data if we really wanted to, but it's much easier to import data from somewhere else that's already been created. So let's go ahead and do it. At the menu, select External Data, New Data Source, From File, and then select Excel. And now let's find the Excel exercise file that has been included with this video, double-click on it, and then select Okay. This step here is really important.
