Learn how to clean up the presentation of the title bar across the top of the screen, or limit access to some of the more powerful design tools that you want to keep users away from. Also, learn how to bypass the startup options so that the database launches in its unmodified configuration.
- [Instructor] To give your database a polished appearance,…consider setting some of the startup options.…Let's take a look at what's available,…and we can do that by going to the File tab,…coming down to Options,…and then clicking on Current Database.…The first one I want to look at is the Application Title.…This will replace what appears here…at the very top of your screen,…so instead of seeing the full file path to your database,…we can have it say something else.…I'll just type in Landon Hotel.…In the Display Form section, we can choose a form…to automatically open up when the database opens.…
Let's go ahead and choose the CheckIn_Guests form…from the dropdown menu.…Another option that I like is this one here…called Enable Layout View.…If you dislike using the Layout View to edit your objects,…and you just want to stick with the full design tools,…then you can completely remove that as an option.…Just uncheck this option that says Enable Layout View.…Likewise, you can also prevent changes to your tables…from happening in the Datasheet view,…
