Segment data into groups
- [Voiceover] When records in your data table include dates, Access can parse those values out and group them on the fly right inside of your reports, without having to subset or break down the dates manually in a query first. For instance, you can easily group your records by month or quarter with one little change to the group and sort window. Let's build a quick report that displays our orders for each month. I'll come up here to the create tab and we'll create a new report in design view. Now the first thing we need to do is connect this to a data source. So on the design tab I'll open up the property sheet, we'll come to the data tab and we'll choose our record source as our order's table. Then we'll come down here to the group and sort window, and if that's not on just go ahead and toggle it on with this button up here. Then we'll add a group and we'll group it based off of our order dates. Over here on the far right side of the bar though, we see this option here, "by quarter".…
