Protect the database with a password
- [Instructor] It's common for an access database to include sensitive information that should only be accessible to people with the proper credentials. By establishing a password on your database file, you can keep your data secure. In order to password protect our database file, we'll go up here to the file tab, and in the Info section, we're gonna click the Encrypt with Password button. Now when I do that, I'm gonna get a message here that says, "You must have the database open for exclusive use "to set or remove a database password." To do this, we need to close our database and reopen it in a specific way. Let's go ahead and press the Okay button for this, then I'll come up to the File tab, and we'll come down to Close. That'll close the database, but leave Access running. Then I'll come up to File. I'll click on open. Then I'll come down and click on the Browse button. That'll open up the File Explorer and I'll scroll up, and go into our Desktop, Exercise Files, Chapter 8, and…
