Most forms show just one record at a time—and that's one of their strengths over working in Datasheet view, where records appear in tight rows and columns that aren't easy to navigate and customize. Learn how the multiple-record form puts data in rows and columns, but allows the salesperson to resize and control the appearance of and navigation through the data.
- [Instructor] One of the best things about forms…is the ability to show just one record at a time.…That may be the biggest reason that people…create forms in the first place.…Because working in Datasheet view is…way too difficult to navigate.…It's a nightmare.…So generally, people are really relieved to have a form…where they can just look at one record at a time,…and they don't have to move from cell to cell…and worry about which row they're in and all of that.…However, there is the ability to create a form…that shows more than one record at a time.…
And let me build one for you,…and then I'm gonna show you why it's not…just as bad as Datasheet view.…And I'll show you how it's actually…a good kind of form to build, in some cases.…So I'm starting by clicking on, but not opening,…the table on which the new form should be based,…and then I'm going to the Create tab.…And then I'm gonna go over to More Forms…and choose Multiple Items.…Now watch.…(gasps) Look how long that took.…It happened so fast.…So now I have one row per customer.…
