Manage relationships and keys
- [Instructor] Managing primary and foreign keys and creating relationships in our database between our tables allows us to correctly drill down into our data, making sure that we do not have duplicate or even triplicate data, for our records. We do this by first assigning a primary key in each of our tables. Here we can also have a foreign key in our secondary tables. And the foreign key doesn't have to be the primary key in your secondary table, it's simply the field that's going to relate back to the primary key in your primary table. I'm going to show you how to create relationships between two tables, and how to enforce referential integrity between each of those tables and that means I'm not able to delete a record in either the primary or secondary table if it has a relationship already created.
