- [Instructor] It's important to understand that when you're working with the back end of a database, the way the data is stored is not necessarily how we look at it when we report on it. Let's take a look at some normalization. If you look at the data extract file, you'll notice that we see repetitive user names, and maybe even repetitive video names. That's because we're looking at the users and the videos that they watched. This is an example of data being de-normalized. Let's take a look at how this is actually stored in the database. I'll go ahead and close this extract file. Okay, go ahead and double-click on Users. So the way that this database was designed, it was designed using the rules of normalization.
