- If you already have information stored in a file such as an Excel workbook, you don't need to re-type it in order to bring it in to Access. You can use the tools available on the External Data tab and Import & Link group on this side to bring that data in. You notice in the New Data Source section that we have lots of different file types that we can bring in. In the From File group, I can bring in Excel files, HTML Documents, XML Files, and Text Files, which would include comma delimited CSV files. Under From Databases, we can also bring in additional Access databases, or other Access databases, we can bring in some From SQL Server, From Azure Databases, or From dBASE Files. Plus, we have the options From Online Services, such as Sharepoint List, Saleforce, and Dynamics 365. And finally from Other Sources, we can bring in other ODBC Database sources and Outlook data. So, we have lots of different options to bring things in, and what I wanna do is bring in an Excel file to replace…
