Follow along with the exercise files

- [Narrator] If you have access to the exercise files that accompany this course, then you can download a copy and follow along with me. I've placed mine on the desktop. Once it's unzipped, you'll find a folder for each chapter, and within each of the chapter folders are the database files that I'll be using. In some cases you'll find both a starting and completed file. This course also features challenges that I'll present along the way. In the chapter folders, you'll find a database for the start of the challenge, as well as my solution, so you can compare your result against mine. Now because Access blocks some functions of any new database that it hasn't seen before, you might want to add the exercise files to the list of trusted locations on your computer. That'll prevent this yellow security bar from appearing across the screen every time you open up a new database. To prevent this, just go ahead and open any database file, and then go to the File tab, come down to Options, click on Trust Center and then click on the Trust Center button on the right, then we'll come up here to Trusted Locations and I'll come down and add a new location. That'll allow me to browse out to the location of the exercise folder. For me again that's on the desktop, then I'll select the Exercise Files folder there, go on and say OK and then check this box that says subfolders of this location are also trusted, say OK, and that'll add that Exercise Files location to your list of trusted locations. I'll say Okay and OK again, and then I can go and close Access. Now if you don't have access to the exercise files, no worries, you can follow along using your own databases or simply sit back and watch, now let's get started.
