- [Instructor] With the order dates query complete, we can close it down and begin a new form in design view to hold the chart. Now there are two different ways to add chart objects. In the Controls group, if I scroll here, I press the More button, we'll find one object here called Chart. This one uses an old version based on Microsoft's graph engine. It's kept around for backwards compatibility but I would highly recommend avoiding this one at all costs. In the 2019 version of Access, a complete overhaul of the charting capability was performed, and a new Chart object was created. Instead of using this one here in the Controls group, instead, you should now use this one over here that's to the right of the Insert Image box. It says Insert Chart. Inside is a menu of the different chart types that you can choose from. I'm going to choose the Column section, and then choose Clustered Column.
