Design for the end user

- [Instructor] Throughout this course, I'll often refer to the database's end user and I wanted to take a moment to define who I think this person is and why they're important to keep at the front of your mind while designing your forms and reports. The end user isn't anyone specific, they're more of a theoretical individual that's completely new to the organization. They may be a new hire or an intern, someone that knows very little about your day-to-day tasks and maybe even less about how to use Microsoft Access. As you develop your database application, occasionally put yourself into their position and look at your workflow as if you are brand new to it. If you can set up your navigation, data entry, and reporting systems tailored to that end user, the uninitiated, first day on the job employee, then you'll be well on your way towards creating a successful application.
