- [Instructor] Unlike other Office programs that immediately give you a blank document to get started in, Access starts with the options for creating a new database or opening existing database. On the first screen, we see the option to create a brand-new database with this icon here, or you might also see some featured templates to choose from. We can also go up to the top and search for a template. Microsoft suggests searches of Database, Business, Logs, and so on, or we can use the search box and type in our own search term. Let's suppose that I have a large collection of books that I like to share with friends and family. I can run a quick search for library. One of the results is this Lending Library template. Let's go ahead and click on it to see the details. In this case, this template will help us track inventories of books and other materials you might loan out. You can get reports on who has what materials, when they're due back, and see the check-out history of each person.…
