- [Instructor] All of queries in Access are stored in a common programming language called SQL. SQL, or Structured Query Language, is a powerful way to write queries, but it can be a bit difficult to read or troubleshoot if you're not used to it. Luckily for us, Access provides a graphical interface to creating our own queries that eliminates much of the tedium involved with reading straight SQL code. This mode is called the Query Design View. Let's take a look at the various areas of the design interface and how we can begin to use it to build queries using simple mouse commands. In this exercise, I want to create a query that reveals my customers' names and email addresses as well as the subregion of the United States that they live in. This will be similar to the query that we built using the wizard that just looked at the region of the customer.
