- [Instructor] The first step in creating our reporting tool is to build the form. Here's where the end user's going to input the parameters that they're interesting in reviewing on the report. Specifically, we're gonna have combo boxes for the year, month, and sub region. Now, we can get the data out of the States table. We can find the SubRegion column here. And we can see that each of our states belongs to a specific subregion. Let's go ahead and close that down and take a look at the Orders table. And in the Orders table, we have a column for order date. Now, these dates are down to the day, so we're gonna use some Access functions in order to extract the years and months from these dates. Let's go ahead and close this table down. So now that we know where our data is coming from, let's go ahead and take our main menu and we'll switch it into Design view.
