- [Voiceover] Using text boxes on a form for data entry will get the job done in most cases, but it's not always the best solution for some types of information. A wide open text box doesn't help the end user consistently enter information that appears over and over in the database. By converting text box entry fields into combo boxes, where a limited list of options is presented, you gain better control over the data entry process and help guide end users into making the best choices. Let's improve the functionality of our basic customer data entry form that we can get to by clicking on Enter a New Customer here from the main menu. What I wanna do is convert these city and state text boxes into combo boxes that'll present a drop down menu of options to choose from. First, we need to know where the data's going to be coming from. Over here on our tables, we have a States table, double-click on it to open it. You'll see that in the states table we have a column for the state…
