When creating forms in an Access database, the designer will need to be aware of how the layout will change when viewed on computers with different sized screens. By anchoring objects to the edges of the screen, forms can better respond to a shift in scale. In this video, Adam explores the options available to anchor elements in position.
- [Instructor] When creating Forms in an Access database,…you'll want to be aware of how the layout is going to change…when you view them on computers…with different sized screens.…By Anchoring objects to the edges of the screen,…your Forms can better respond to a shift in scale.…Let's take our Employee Directory into Design View…and I want to take a look on the Arrange tab.…We have an option here called Anchoring,…but it's currently grayed out.…In order to work with this,…we need to select an object.…For this example, I'm going to add in a simple Button.…So, go over here to the Design tab…and in the Controls group I'll grab a Button Control.…It's the one with the rectangle and the four Xs in it.…
I'll go ahead and click it once to select it,…then come down into the Form and click again…to add in the Button.…That'll automatically start up the Command Button Wizard,…which we're not going to use.…So, press the Cancel button to dismiss it.…That'll leave me with a simple Button control…that we can play with.…We're going to talk extensively…
