The Layout view of an Access form displays live data while allowing you to adjust the size and location of form elements. In this video tutorial, Adam Wilbert shows how to make use of the layout grid to precisely align and group related form objects together to make a form more logically organized and easier to use.
- [Instructor] The one-click method of generating a form…got us started by placing text boxes…for all of our table fields into the form.…We can further refine the organization…of the form elements by using the layout view.…When you first open up the form,…it'll open it up into form view,…and that'll allow you to look at…and edit the data that it contains.…To change our view, we'll come up here on the home tab,…and the first button here is the view button.…The upper portion of the button will toggle back and forth…between the form view that we're in now…and layout view, which is what this is here.…Let's go back here to the home tab,…and you can see that the bottom portion of the view button,…if I click on that, will allow us to switch…between the three different views that we have available.…
So there's form view, layout view,…and something called design view.…We'll take a look at that next.…So let's go ahead and switch into layout view.…And we'll know that we're in layout view…because we get some additional contextual tabs here…
