Learn how to create a list box that lists the three acceptable values for customer status: current, inactive, prospect. Discover how to build the list and choose which field is updated in which table when a form user selects a status for the customer.
- [Instructor] Forms work great right out of the box.…You tab through the fields, you type your new data,…you edit existing data and everything goes along just fine.…But there are ways to make things easier…and one way is to create a list box…that shows you the options for a given field.…This isn't the same as a validation rule,…nor is it the same as a lookup table.…This is simply a control or a tool that is added…to the form just to make data entry easier.…
Here I have the Products Form displayed,…and it's the form I got by clicking on the word Products…up here in the Tables section,…and simply clicking Create and then Form.…This is the resulting form.…Now, I've got a ProductType field that I would like…to make easier for people to enter the value here,…so what I'm going to do is change over to Design View,…and on the Design tab, I have all of these controls…to choose from.…And the one that I want to use is a list box.…
Now, notice that in this layout,…I don't have any room to add another field,…so I actually need to delete one…
