Add information to a crosstab query
- [Devon] Crosstab queries are a little bit limited in their arrangement, but because they are queries, you can use them as a source for other queries to build on to. Let's build another crosstab query manually in the Query Designer and see how this might be useful. If I open up our Order table, you'll see here at the end, we have a column called Status, and this list part of the status of the order is complete or returned. As a quality assurance or loss prevention measure, I like to track the salespeople that are attached to each order to see if there's any discrepancies between the return rate of an order and the employee that's attached to that order. Let's go ahead and close out of the Orders table, and we'll start a new query here in Design View. We're going to pull in the Orders table and close the Show Table window. And from there, I want to see the SalesPersonID, the Status at the bottom, and the OrderID that's back here at the top. With those three fields selected, I can go…
