- [Instructor] Access keeps track of everything that happens in your database through a collection of hidden system tables. Usually these are kept far out of reach but it's interesting to know that they exist, to see how things work under the hood. Before we do, however, a word of caution, messing about with the system tables can be dangerous and at no point should you attempt to modify anything in them. If any changes are made to a system table, it can corrupt your entire database. Now with that said, we can actually reveal these system tables by right-clicking in the navigation pane and choosing Navigation Options. Then in the Display Options Group, I'll turn the checkbox on here for Show Hidden Objects as well as this one for Show System Objects. I'll press Okay and we'll see a new listing of a whole bunch of tables that appear in the navigation pane.
