Learn how to capture your musical ideas quickly and turn them into great songs with Ableton Live.
- [Yeuda] Everyone writes songs in their own ways. Inspiration comes from a variety of places, and often at random times. Some song starts with musical elements like a guitar riff or a beat, and some start with a lyric idea or melody without lyrics. All of these starting points are valid. There are two groups of techniques that I want to share with you in this course, techniques to get your demo songs, ideas down quickly before the inspiration and desire fade away, and techniques to make your rough ideas sound good enough to present to your songwriting partners, your producer, or a publisher, or even a record label.
I'll start by showing you how to set up Ableton Live for optimum performance. We'll see how to set up templates for more efficient workflow. Then we'll start by recording a demo beat and software instruments. We'll record audio from real-world instruments like a guitar. Next, we'll see how to work with Live's main views, the arrangement and the session view. Then I'll show you how to add audio effects and create automation, and we'll also record some vocals. ? We can say goodbye without crying ? Finally, we'll create a rough mix and do some basic mastering to a song before the final mix down and export.
Let's start songwriting in Ableton Live.
