Simpler introduction

- [Instructor] Simpler is another software instrument that's included with all versions of Live 10. It's a sample player that can be used to trigger long or short samples in a variety of situations. Let's take a look and see how it works. So, I've got exercise four from chapter 12 open and let's load a Simpler preset. Let's go into the Instruments category over in the browser and then the Simpler folder, and then let's open that up. Notice there's a bunch of subfolders with more sounds, and let's go into the Ambient Evolving folder that's at the top there, and we'll just grab this Ambience Swells patch and let's drag and drop that on the first track. Now, Simpler plays one sample at a time. So, this particular sample that we're looking at, and all samples that we put into Simpler for the most part, are mapped to C3. And if we play a note on the keyboard above C3, it will transpose it up. And if we play one below C3 on the keyboard, it will transpose it down. So, here's middle C or C3.…
