- [Instructor] In the last video, we discussed how key mapping can be used to set up your computer keyboard to work as a controller. Let's move on and take a look at how you can use MIDI map mode to map control of live device parameters to a MIDI controller. So let's open exercise two from chapter 14, and you'll notice in my window here that I've got this gold line that is outlining that top five or six scenes on these tracks. That's because I've actually hooked up an APC40 to use the knobs to demonstrate MIDI mapping. Before you start creating mapping assignments, I do want to point out that there's a preference that could really mess you up. So let's go to the live menu, and on a PC you'd go to the options menu, and please choose preferences. Now once you're there, go ahead and click the link MIDI tab. Here on my screen, you'll notice that we can see the APC40 here, but the one I want to point out is on the first row under MIDI ports where we see the APC40, we want to make sure that…
