We're building an Ableton Live set where sounds for each MIDI controller are organized into song presets. Contained within nested racks and their MIDI tracks. The rack activator macro control is a good way to switch to the next preset when a new song starts. It activates the appropriate rack, while keeping the rest of the chains deactivated, to conserve CPU resources. And it moves the chain selector to route MIDI exclusively to the active rack. During liver performance, as the next song starts, you'll need to change presets for multiple controllers, in multiple midi-tracks. While this can be done by a mapping, a midi-control to the rack activator macros in each track. In a set like this, it's even more efficient to create automation. That would take care of switching presets as you launch the click track and any possible play back tracks. The less you have to do to be ready for the next song, the smoother the transition.
