- [Colin] Hi there. My name is Colin Fisher, and welcome to Advanced EDM Mixing Principles. In this course, I'll be sharing with you some of the key principles of mixing dance music, but the underlying discussion will not be limited to only one genre. First, we'll cover elements of mixdowns where we touch on loudness, dynamics, mix balance philosophy, and translation. We'll also cover some key points on headroom and gain staging to ensure you know what to look for when setting up your projects to make sure you always get the best sound. Then we'll move on to dynamics processing with compression, limiting, and clipping. I'll discuss some ways to apply these techniques to your projects and help in dynamics and make your track really punch.
Finally, I'll discuss some ways to manipulate stereo and frequency placement in ways to apply these techniques, just like how the pros do it. If you're ready, let's take into advanced EDM mixing techniques.
