Understanding data source limitations and settings
- [Instructor] QuickSight supports data connections with primitive data types including supported date formats, decimals, integers, and strings. It skips any rows it cannot convert or replaces them with nulls. It converts Boolean data types into integers. Once you've created a connection, you can change the settings if you need to. If you're using a file data source, you should confirm the upload setting QuickSight uses to import them into SPICE and correct if necessary. You also want to check the data source limits to make sure the target file size doesn't exceed the data source limitations. If you're running low on space, you can apply a filter or remove fields to reduce the size of the dataset, which we'll learn about in the next chapter.
