Leveraging conditional formatting
- [Instructor] Conditional formats give values in QuickSight tables, pivot tables and KPI visuals colors based on conditional criteria. You can show the heat or intensity of a certain value by using key colors or a color scale. Heat maps let the intensity of the color indicate the magnitude of the numbers. In QuickSight, let's select our pivot table visual in our our Pivot 1 sheet. To add conditional formatting to this visual, keep the visual selected, then open the menu with the ellipsis. These three little dots on the right side of the visual. We choose Conditional formatting from our menu options. We see a Conditional formatting pane appear on the left side of the screen. Let's select our Precipitation column as the field to leverage in our conditional formatting.
