What you should know

- [Instructor] To get the most out of this course, there's a few things you should be aware of. Having a general understanding of web fundamentals is a good starting point. For example, understanding how clients and servers communicate using HTTP requests and responses. I'd recommend having some experience with web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It's also helpful to have exposure to object-oriented programming concepts and languages, like C#. We'll be installing Visual Studio Community as our code editor, and using it throughout the course. I'll also be using Windows for my operating system. If you're just getting started out with web development, we have some great courses to help you along, like Web Programming Foundations, which dives into the components that make up the web. If you want to learn more about the C# language or the .NET framework, take a look at C# Essential Training, and Learning .NET Programming. To explore object-oriented programming concepts, check out Programming Foundations: Object-Oriented Design. And as we go through the course, you can always reference Microsoft's ASP.NET online documentation. You'll find helpful content on a variety of topics we'll be covering.
