What to know

- [Instructor] For this course, a basic working knowledge of Autodesk Revit is helpful. At minimum, you should be able to navigate around in the view, switching between floor plans, ceiling plans, and 3D views. Additionally, you should be able to place objects and components by using families, choosing from architectural components such as windows, walls, and doors, and also choosing components and loading in families here. Some modeling skill in Revit is helpful, but not entirely necessary. A working knowledge of 3ds Max is helpful but not necessary. We'll start with bringing in a model and look at some fundamental concepts like moving and rotating objects and positioning cameras. Along the way, we'll look at applying textures to our models; so some knowledge of creating textures in Adobe Photoshop or Allegorithmic Substance Designer or similar programs again is helpful, but not necessary. There are plenty of good courses on LinkedIn Learning on both; and so I'd highly recommend, if you'd like to augment your knowledge of what we're doing here, you take a look at those.
