- [Instructor] In 3DS Max 2013, so before Bifrost fluids a Simulations in Mass Effects and 3DS Max course in which I stepped through the creation of a basic gloopy fluid effect using This video I'm going to take that same basic setup and, instead of using 3DS Max's standard and outdated blobmesh object as I did in that course, show how we can make use of VRay's more efficient metaball feature to nicely finish things off. If I hit the play button then we see that we have a Particle Flow system that has been setup to pool and slide in a manner that, somewhat, feels like a thick, gloopy fluid, with portions of it sliding over the edge of the stand. We do need to finalize the look of the effect, however, which is where the VRay metaballs will come in. To set those up, let's set our timeline to frame 88 and then from the geometry section in the create tab access the dropdown, select the VRay option from the list and then left-click to select the VRay metaball option.
