- [Instructor] Whilst it is, even by Chaos Group's own admission somewhat limited in terms of its usefulness in the material creation process, the V-Ray Curvature Map is one that users have oftentimes asked about and so we're going to take a quick look at the basics of how it works, here in this exercise. In our start scene then, we have a close-up view of an industrial type object that has had quite a few hard angles modeled into it. Such angles typically being where we would find a curvature shader most useful. And it has also had a very simple reflective V-Ray material applied to it. Let's open up the Material Editor then, and in the Curvature tab add a VRayCurvature Map to the work area. Indeed, if we double click on this to load up its parameters, we can quickly see why many texture artists perhaps feel that its usefulness is currently very limited, given that the control set is very sparse.
