Using irradiance mapping: Part 1

- Because global illumination is, typically speaking, process for many artists, we're going to spend this particular chapter examining the GI engines that are available in V-Ray Next. In fact, for the next two videos, we're going mapping solution in order to test its capabilities at creating a basic global illumination solution for our interior shot. We've chosen an interior setting because, such a setup typically presents the biggest challenge that we can face when it comes to getting a clean and believable looking lighting solution. In fact, we're making things even harder than they need to be here by, first of all, using a room with closed off points of entry for the outside daylight, namely some of this skylight openings, and we are using an essentially untextured scene which should show off any noise or blotchiness that is produced by the GI systems very clearly indeed.
