- [Instructor] What we want to do in this video is take a look at a V-ray tool that can be used to create some simple and yet very nice render time effects such as fur, hair, grass, as we look to create a simple rug effect on the geometry that we have sitting in the view. To apply V-ray fur all we need do is select a compatible mesh in the scene, which our rug geometry is. And then from either the create and V-ray menus or from the V-ray toolbar we can choose the V-ray fur option, which will then generate a procedural render time fur effect. Meaning the fur geometry isn't present in the scene. What we do see in the scene though, these fur guides that can help us get a sense of how the fur effect is taking shape. Now these are typically generated as a set of defaults based on the general size of the mesh to which the fur is being applied.
