Softening the sun and shadows
Within the daylight system, we have a lot of flexibility how we customize the different parts we're using. We can independently tune the sun and the sky and really custom tune how they react with our surfaces. What I'm going to do is to rotate that sun a little bit, so instead of going completely horizontally across the scene, the sunbeams angle in. And then I'll soften out the shadows in that daylight system. I'll go into my top view, press Z to zoom extents and pick my daylight assembly head. I'll play with the hours in this, or change the north direction, so that the sun comes from lower right to upper left, across the scene. I'll crank that north direction a little bit more, and I'm going to make the building actually a little more south facing. Alternately, you can play with the location or the month and time. Because I'm not in a particular local but I've chosen Seattle, I'm free to customize this for cinematic purposes. Getting the most reach out of those sun beams that I think…
