- [Instructor] Another great OSL map added to 3ds Max recently is the HDRI environment map, and it's very helpful, because it allows us to color correct the HDRI environment in many ways. We can shift the image around, change the color, exposure, and even, to a limited extent, simulate a fake environment. And if we add a little shadow catching object, we can actually make it look like our subject is situated in that HDRI environment. So I've got this little toy drone model, and it's from my course, Learning 3ds Max. Let's add an HDRI environment. I'll do that from the material editor. Open up the material editor, right-click in the view, and choose maps, OSL, environment, HDRI environment. We get an open dialog, where we're taken to the 3ds Max program files directory. And you could link to a file within here, but I recommend linking to the exercise files instead, and that way, you'll keep everything within the same project…
